Diploma in Hotel Management

Overview

The Diploma in Hotel Management programme prepares students for employment at a supervisory level in various industries such as
Hotels, Resorts, Cruise Ships, Airlines, Event Management Companies, etc.

This programme covers areas such as front office, housekeeping, food service, event management, and marketing. Spectrum Education Group also guarantees industrial placement for students in 4-Star Hotel and above.

Upon completion of the programme students should be able to demonstrate:
  • Fundamental principles of management and its co-relationship within the business environment
  • Management techniques for the purpose of planning, decision-making, performance evaluation and control, within different business settings
  • Knowledge in business, human resources management, consumer behavior and management technique
  • An ability to present ideas clearly, logically and persuasively on both oral and written communication.
  • An ability to solve problems through the identification of key issues, synthesis of information and analytical tools, and the presentation and critical evaluation of a range of options.
  • Understanding on the importance of knowledge through lifelong learning, entrepreneurial skills, motivation, working in teams, managing people, communication, leadership and managerial skills.

A pass in SPM with at least credit in any 3 subjects, or any equivalent qualification

OR

A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.0) in any subject, or any equivalent qualification

OR

A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul

OR

A pass in SKM Level 3 in a related field, and a pass in SPM with a minimum of 1 credit in any subject

OR

Any qualifications equivalent to Certificate (Level 3, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF)
