SPECTRUM TRAIN AND PLACE PROGRAMME : HOSPITALITY : CRUISE, F&B AND HOTELS

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE – MALAYSIAN STUDENTS

Spectrum Train & Place Programme was developed by Recognizing The Central Role In A Student’s Career, because once the student has learned and has developed the requisite hospitality skills, then after the next step is to place the student successfully.

The programme has been divided into 3 stages. Students must complete each stage to qualify for the Job Placement Service offered by Spectrum Education & Training (M) Sdn.Bhd in partnership with Tiga Consulting Sdn.Bhd.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students must satisfy the following criteria to join Spectrum Train & Place Hospitality Programme.

  • Age 21 and above
  • No Criminal Background
  • Medically Fit
  • No Visible Tattoo
  • Approved BMI.

Students keen to Board a Cruise Ship will need to satisfy the additional requirements of

  • Valid Passport
  • Minimum 1 year hospitality experience
  • Able to Speak English well (Marlins)
  • Kenexa Test (Knowledge + Aptitude Assessment)
  • STCW Training
  • Medical Checkup – Marintime Medical Centre, Singapore
  • C1/D Visa (American Visa/US Visa) 5 years validity visa a crew member

STAGE 1 - HOSPITALITY TRAINING PROGRAMME BY SPECTRUM EDUCATION & TRAINING (M) SDN.BHD

  • Programme Duration 6 months
    • English for Hospitality Industry
    • Front Desk (Opera or fidelio system)
    • Introduction to Hospitality
    • Food & Beverage Management
    • Housekeeping Management
    • Cruise Ship Training Programme (18 modules)
  • Additional Programme (Optional)
    • Mandarin Language
    • Intensive English Language
  • Tuition Fee
    • RM8550.00

STAGE 2 - INTERSHIP PROGRAMME WITHIN HOTELS & F&B INDUSTRIES

  • INTERNSHIP DURATION 12 MONTHS
    • Spectrum will arrange internship with Hotels and Restaurants.
    • Internship benefit to students
      • Duty Meal
      • Accommodation
      • Allowance RM900 to RM1200
    • Spectrum will monitor students’ progress during the internship
    • Malaysia Students may be sent to Japan, Singapore, Maldives and USA for the internship programme.
  • Note
    • Requirement to work with a cruise company, students need a minimum of 1 year working experience in the hospitality industry.

STAGE 3 – JOB PLACEMENT IN CRUISE SHIP’S

  • EMPLOYMENT WITH CRUISE SHIPS
    • Spectrum will arrange interview with Cruise Companies
    • Candidates that is selected will receive a Letter of Employment from the Cruise Company.
    • Only upon receiving the Letter of Employment candidates need to pay RM2500/- to Spectrum.
    • Candidates can than proceed to register themselves independently with the cruise ship or alternatively seek Spectrum help with the process. An administrative fee of RM 500 will be charged.
    • In addition candidate need to pay additional RM3000 for Visa/Medical Fee/Admin/Test/ etc.
    • Candidates salary will be between USD800/- to USD2500/-
